Association for Organics Recycling appoints new chair

The Association for Organics Recycling (formerly the Composting Association) has appointed a new chairman.

Charlie Trousdell officially took over the reins from Peter Mills at the associations annual conference on January 27th and is already looking to make an impression.

"My job is to make sure we are representing our members interests, make sure the association keeps up with the industry and fight the organic recyclers cause," the TJ Composting managing director said.

"We have a raised awareness of the necessity to be more political as we represent our members needs in an emerging industry."

It is a role familiar to Mr Trousdell as he has served as vice-chairman for the past year.

Composting can be a great way of producing free and healthy fertiliser, according to the Royal Horticultural Society.

It suggests that the excess plant material from gardening can be broken down to help feed the soil and help nourish the garden.
