2016 Gardening Show Events Calendar

There are a host of fantastic gardening events to attend in 2016. We have pulled together a list of our favourites to help you plan which events to attend in 2016. We are fortunate enough to be attending all events in the list so hopefully we shall see you there. Don’t forget to come and say hi to us at any events you make it too.

Harrogate Spring Show – April 21-24

The Harrogate Spring Show is the first big event of the gardening show season. This prestigious event runs from 21st to the 24th April and will feature beautiful show gardens, the fabulous new Plant Pavilion, great shopping, live entertainment and a fantastic exhibition of florists and flower arrangers. There will be over 150 painstakingly prepared works of art and large scale displays on show that are guaranteed to leave you breathless.

Malvern Spring Show – May 5-8

The Malvern Spring Show will provide you with the perfect inspiration for your very own garden. Last years event saw over 90,000 people attend and this year the organisers are aiming for that magical 100,000 number. With Alan Titchmarsh and Mary Berry on hand to provide their expertise and a whole host of activities, displays, shopping and special activities planned, this is an event not to be missed.

Chelsea Flower Show – May 24-28

The Chelsea Flower Show has been held in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea since 1913. It is the most prestigious show on the calendar. With a cap of 157,000 visitors in place tickets for this event are like gold dust so you should count yourself very lucky if are able to attend with wonderful gathering of the greatest horticultural exhibitors in the UK. The Chelsea Flower show has been the showpiece event for the RHS for over a century and is the ideal place to see cutting-edge garden design, new plants and to find ideas to take home.

Bloom In The Park  – June 2-5

Bloom in the Park is one of Ireland’s biggest annual tourist attractions as well as being one of the leading horticultural and food festivals. Taking place each year over the June Bank Holiday, Bloom is now in it’s 10th year and is looking to mark the anniversary with a host of fantastic exhibits including show gardens, sculptures, botanical art, craft displays as well as a open farmyard available to the public.

Gardening Scotland – June 3-6

Gardening Scotland is held on the grounds of the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh and is the biggest plant fair in Scotland. Promising to provide everything from an abundance of beautiful plants to tools, equipment, garden furniture and all the inspiration you could need to make your garden grow. Exhibitors from all across the UK bring their very best in hope to make an impression at Scotland’s largest plant fair.

BBC Gardeners World Live – June 16-19

BBC’s Gardeners World Live sees a gathering a top experts passing out their wisdom, knowledge and experience to the crowd in a a series of great talks. It also presents the opportunity to get your favourite gardening book signed by the authors themselves. Another great benefit of attending the show is that it also gains you free entry to the BBC Good Food Show. There are a host of exhibitors on hand to show you everything from contemporary designs to beautiful cottage garden getaways.

Hampton Court Palace Flower Show – July 5-10

The Hampton Court Palace flower show was first held in 1990 but it wasn’t until 1993 that the RHS took over the show. Since then it has grown into the world’s largest flower show. The show averages 130,000 visitors each year. It takes up to three weeks for exhibitors to build their show garden for the event. As well as the show garden’s, the Rose Marquee, Floral Marquee, plant pavilion and a variety of talks, demonstrations and exhibits will keep you entertained throughout the event.

Tatton Park Flower Show – July 20-24

The very first Tatton Park flower show was held in 1999 and welcomes an average of 80,000 visitors a year. This spectacular day out includes innovative show gardens, Floral Marquee, talks, demonstrations, advice, tradestands and exhibitors all wrapped up in a wonderful carnival atmosphere. The show also grants free entry to children under 16 who are accompanied by an adult making this a great family day out.
