Worst of property crisis now over

Homeowners considering building a conservatory to boost the saleability of their property may be encouraged by a recent statement from the Bank of England.

It suggested the housing market was continuing to improve, with enquiries and transactions both on the increase.

According to the banks Agents Summary of Business Conditions, the industry has now strengthened for five consecutive months.

It stated the worst of the housing crisis is now over, with independent specialist Malcolm Harrison explaining reports from the past few months have been increasingly positive.

However, he stated some regions still have some way to go in terms of recovery.

"London and the south-east have got a lot more to pick up than the rest of the country and there will still be a lot of investment landlords who bought into the peak developments who will not be getting a return," Mr Harrison said.

The statistics may encourage some to carry out improvements so their property is in the best possible shape for when the market reaches its peak again.
