Workers swap suits for shovels in community gardening project

Some 43 volunteers spent the day transforming a garden area for the community, with tasks including levelling an area of lawn to make it more wheelchair accessible and installing a drainage pipe.

The Nell Bank centre manager Bruce Fowler said the tasks would have taken months had the volunteers not come and helped them.

“Barclays and Pinsent’s have worked together with Nell Bank on several projects over recent years and our team never fails to be impressed by the fantastic community [work] they do at Nell Bank,” Rob Kay from Barclay’s added.

Nell Bank Queen’s Silver Jubilee Trust – established in 1977 – is a community built education centre offering day and residential outdoor programmes to many different schools and other community groups
