Spring 2010 the time for housing "kick-start"

Homeowners thinking of building a conservatory in the hope of boosting the value and appeal of their property may be interested in the latest comments from the Little House Company.

The firm suggested spring 2010 could be the time where the market receives a "real kick-start" due to increasing demand.

Recent Hometrack figures show the average house price in the UK increased by 0.1 per cent in August, despite London, the south-east and East Anglia being the only regions to see positive growth.

Commenting, Little House Company director Jane Marr explained that it was unsurprising prices in these areas had risen first.

"There is now pent-up demand for people who want to move and we feel that spring 2010 will see buyers more inspired to make that move and [provide] a real kick-start to the UK housing market," she stated.

According to the Hometrack figures, the August rise was the first sign of positive movement in the market since July 2007.
