Sky lights cost-effective natural light sources

Sky lights can be used to provide a cost-effective way to illuminate an area with natural light, it has been noted.

Online resource Real Business cites research from office design firm Morgan Lovell, suggesting that the glazed panels can be used to brighten up a dimply-lit spot.

It notes that other forms of new technology can also be used to make a space feel much less gloomy.

Sun tubes – which use a series of mirrors to reflect light from the outside through a pipe and into a room – are also identified as a gainful way in which to make the most of natural illumination.

In related news, an article in the online pages of the Times recently noted the benefits of sky lights, suggesting that the glass panels helped a Tyne and Wear-based coffin making factory cut down on the amount of artificial light it needed on a day-to-day basis.
