Oklahoma garden and greenhouse enthusiasts invited to event

Garden and greenhouse enthusiasts in the state of Oklahoma may be interested in attending a forthcoming event to help them get up to speed on the latest fashions in the growing world.

Taking place in the Meinders Hall of Mirrors in Civic Centre Music Hall, the Oklahoma Gardening School will be presented by the Myriad Gardens Foundation.

The $20 entry fee for members and $30 for non-members will grant attendees access to a range of useful tips from regional horticulture experts, the Oklahoman reported.

Much of the class will focus on indigenous shrubs and trees, while garden and greenhouse fans will also be able to check out the plans for the Myriad Botanical Gardens renovation.

Oklahoma Gardening TV host Kimberly Rebek is set to give examples of some of the best gardens in the state and share her knowledge gained through a horticultural career that has seen her become an extension specialist at Oklahoma State University.

Meanwhile, Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens senior director Jimmy Turner will also speak about how best to use colour in the garden.

Meanwhile, Marylands Carroll County Times has revealed that the Carroll County Master Gardeners is set to offer a series of horticultural lectures in March.
