London park is one of the best
Regents Park in London has been named as the best park in the central region in the 2008 Britains Best Park competition.
The green space is enjoyed by millions of visitors from both London and around the world on an annual basis.
Judges in the competition gave special mention to its wonderful horticultural displays and noted how it seemed to have something to satisfy almost everyones tastes.
Competition judge and business development manager for Briggs and Stratton Ian Small explained why he thought Regents Park deserved its accolade.
"The Parks diverse environment and historical elements appeal to a wide range of users and make it a worthy winner of the regional prize," he said.
Other elements that pleased the judges were its design, usability and community involvement.
Gardeners impressed by what they see at the park may wish to take the ideas home with them to attempt in their own greenhouse.
