Lady GaGa reward for garden helpers

The Orange RockCorps programme is now into its second year and is encouraging young garden and greenhouse lovers from Manchester and London to volunteer in their local areas.

In return for their efforts in the community, the horticulture helpers will be given tickets to a concert featuring Lady GaGa and N-Dubz.

The event is set to take place at the Manchester Apollo on July 13th and RockCorps co-founder and chief executive officer Stephen Greene said the Poker Face singers appearance is bound to give the project a boost.

He explained: "Together with N-Dubz and some surprises yet to come, the Manchester Apollo will rock on July 13th….celebrating the work of the volunteers."

Volunteers at the Hulme Community Garden Centre will be asked to plant vegetables, paint murals and build paths from recycled glass.

The will receive a ticket in return for four hours work and will likely be invited to the Manchester projects summer party, which takes place on July 18th.
