Improve the home to attract tenants

Landlords looking to obtain the best possible rental return from their property should seriously consider their interior design options, according to one expert.

According to Architect Your Homes Nina Longstaff, landlords are facing increased competition in the market as a result of the dip in house prices.

This has lead to the more savvy landlords investing in their property to enable them to charge a premium rent.

"Increased competition has had a positive effect on the interior design market, especially at the top end of the market," she said.

"Landlords at this end of the market have to work harder to attract the best tenants and interior design is a key element in achieving that."

One idea for improving the home to attract tenants, and especially families, is to erect a conservatory to help flood the home with light, making it feel much more spacious.
