Greenhouse lovers get set for Berrylicious Weekend

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is preparing to welcome those with a talent for growing soft fruit to one of its events.

Garden Wisley will host the bodys second Grow Your Own weekend – called Berrylicious – which will be held on Saturday and Sunday (July 18th and 19th).

Attendees will be able to tap the brains of RHS experts as far as growing, harvesting, foraging, cooking and serving berries goes.

Young horticulture lovers might enjoy the activities laid on for then, which include flower pot painting from 10:00 until 16:00 BST.

The weekend will provide information for experts and beginners alike, with tasting and information sessions available.

It comes as part of an RHS drive to encourage more Brits to take up growing their own food in gardens, greenhouses, cold frames and whatever else is available.

Meanwhile, the organisation recently confirmed former Ground Force presenter Alan Titchmarsh is one of its new vice-presidents.
