Green building show held in England

While the aesthetics of conservatories, roof lights and folding sliding doors may interest some homeowners, others may be more interested in their environmental methods.

It may be the latter section of the population that made the recent Greenbuild Expo in Manchester Central such a "good and very busy" show, as described by Sustain magazine deputy editor Steven Oxley.

The event – which took place over the last two days (June 17th and 18th) – hosted more than 50 exhibitors, with a packed main room and extra space being used for seminars and workshops.

Exhibitors included the Department of Communities and Local Government, Eon and EcoSkies.

Themes covered included sustainable building, wind turbines and carbon reduction.

For people considering improving their property in the south of England, the Southern Homebuilding and Renovating Show at Sandown Park in Surrey on June 27th and 28th.
