Architect Lord Rogers has been made a Companion of Honour in the Queens birthday list.
The BBC reports that Lord Rogers had collaborated with a number of other leading practitioners of glass and steel construction, including Renzo Piano and Norman Foster, leading to the construction of a number of iconic buildings.
Indeed, projects that Lord Rogers has been involved in include Heathrow Airports Terminal 5, the European Court of Human Rights, the Pompidou Centre in Paris and the Millennium Dome.
"I am very proud to be made a Companion of Honour and grateful for the opportunity it gives me to raise awareness of the importance of quality in architecture and design," he said in recent days.
Lord Rogers dedicated the recognition to all the people he has worked with over the last 40 years.
"This recognition is as much for their achievements as it is for mine," he said.
Paris Digest describes the Pompidou Centre as one of the most spectacular buildings in the French capital.
