Gardeners World to get new Birmingham home
Popular BBC TV show Gardeners World is moving from its Berryfields home to a new location in Birmingham.
The latest series is scheduled begin on April 3rd and will feature a "grassy playing field" in the middle of Birmingham.
It is hoped that, over time, the area will be transformed into an urban meadow to act as a magnet for insects and help boost the dwindling number of bees.
A vegetable plot will also be established to aid the instruction of watching gardeners in how best to cultivate their produce from their own gardens and greenhouses.
"After six wonderful years at Berryfields, its really exciting to be moving to a new location. Its a little daunting to be creating a new garden from scratch but I cant wait to get stuck in," presenter Toby Buckland commented.
"Well also be offering lots of tips and advice on what to do in the garden right now."
Previous presenters of Gardeners World include Geoff Hamilton, Alan Titchmarsh and Monty Don.
