Gardeners to be rewarded with gig tickets

Gardeners in London and Manchester are being asked to help out community projects by donating four hours of their time.

In return they will receive tickets to an exclusive star-studded gig at the Manchester Apollo on July 13th, featuring top artists from the world of pop music.

The deal is part of the Orange RockCorps programme, which looks to encourage volunteering in the UK.

It recently announce[d] the concert will feature Poker Face singer Lady GaGa, as well as Number One performer N-Dubz.

RockCorps co-founder and chief executive officer Stephen Greene said he was "thrilled" to confirm Lady GaGa on the line-up.

"Together with N-Dubz and some surprises yet to come, the Manchester Apollo will rock on July 13th….celebrating the work of the volunteers," he explained.

One of the places gardeners are being asked to help out is the Hulme Community Garden Centre.

They will be required to plant vegetables, build paths made from recycled glass and paint murals at the charity site.

Meanwhile, the Manchester community venue is set to host its annual summer party on July 18th.
