Garden and greenhouse resource posts 10,000th article

A gardening and greenhouse information site is celebrating reaching a milestone in its development.

Gardenology.org has been in existence for more than two years and now has over 10,000 articles.

The resource for horticulture enthusiasts operates in a similar way to Wikipedia, allowing users to edit articles and information.

It enables them to upload new details, correct any imperfections and update what has already been written to help other growers expand their knowledge.

"With the wiki format allowing the entire world to help build this site, I hope to one day see the site become a comprehensive database of every single garden plant in the world," explained site founder Raffi Kojan.

Articles include general plant descriptions, as well as information on cultivation, propagation, diseases and pests.

It also lists different varieties of species and has the ability to display pictures in a photo gallery.

Current featured articles on the site include those on impatiens and pomegranates.
