From green fingers to green hearts

Greenhouses are for all ages and a group of US College students have proved it by building a greenhouse that will help their local community.

Bloomfield College in New Jersey is known for giving a helping hand to its community and so local councillor, Michael Venezia, was happy to donate $650 to pay for the greenhouse.

The money went to support the Green Hearts Movement at the college in its work to protect the environment.

As part of their education to learn about sustainability, the college professor of history, Sandy Vandyk, took the Green Hearts students on a trip to Vermont.  The young people were so motivated to take action that they swapped their full evening dinner for a pizza plus the chance to buy books on sustainability.

The kind-hearted Green Hearts are now looking to obtain more land for their movement to make even greater contributions to the care of the planet.
