Free gardening classes
Lancashire Wildlife Trust is to offer a new, free weekly course designed to teach people how to eat healthily and save money.
The course is aimed at those with the environment in mind who would like to grow-green.
The classroom-based course will take place through the winter so the students can hit their gardens and greenhouses running when spring comes around.
The lessons will range from what to do when you take on a plot to soil and composting advice through to sowing, propagation and greenhouse techniques.
The mood is expected to be informal and relaxed and all materials will be provided with the exception of pens and paper.
Part of Lancashire Wildlife Trusts "Growing Food for Life" project, the course will be funded by Target Wellbeing Lotteries.
It will take place close to the proposed flagship educational allotment in Deepdale, Preston which is set to be open next year for local people, community groups and schools
