Forfar In Bloom

Gardeners in the town of Forfar, Scotland are being encouraged to bring their expertise and talents to help re-invigorate the town centre of the traditional market town.

Angus council have revealed new plans for a community project that will see the town re-invigorated with hanging baskets, with plants sourced and maintained locally.

Speaking at a meeting of Forfar Community Council, Angus councillor Lynne Devine said;

“Other towns such as Monifeth and Blairgowrie have similar schemes. I have spoken to members of the Forfar and District Garden Club, and they are willing to be part of a community group.”

Eleanor Gledhill of the club said;

“The Garden Club is more than willing to help with expertise. We’re not a rich club and don’t have the funds to be able to buy the supplies but will be happy to teach a team of volunteers how it should be done…It’s a good idea to brighten up the town as its essential to make the town look nice.”
