Extension a good way to boost value

A new poll has suggested that adding an extension to a property is a great way of improving its value.

The study, by the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA), revealed that 41 per cent of its members believe that adding an extension is the most viable way of upping the value of a property.

The research also found that improving the kitchen is also a good idea for attracting more affluent buyers.

NAEA chief executive Peter Bolton King explained that a bit of thought and effort can go a long way.

"A well planned and built extension, that creates an additional open living space, could potentially increase the value of a property."

One way of extending a property with a modern twist that incorporates a kitchen improvement is to add a glazed extension to the kitchen.

This not only improves the look and feel of the house, but extends the kitchen area and provides an eating environment with a view of the garden.
