Dig the City 2014 – this weekend!

After the astonishing success of Dig the City 2013, this year’s iteration of the nation’s largest urban gardening festival promises to be an even bigger event. 2013 saw over a million visitors in Manchester city centre, and 2014 is predicted to be an even bigger event.

The festival takes place from Saturday 2nd August through to Sunday 10th August, and will see Manchester city centre’s street turn green in celebration of all things horticultural.

Attractions include food, flowers, a fete, markets, a petting farm and green themed activities. TV gardening Gurus Diarmuid Gavin and Rachel de Thame will be on hand to give talks over the course of the nine day event.

Floral displays will adorn central Manchester, extending form King St to Manchester Cathedral, whilst businesses, retailers and restaurants will be hosting garden inspired events, menus and children’s activities.
