Conservatory owners looking to furnish their glazed extensions with wicker products should be aware the items require a level of tender loving care, it has been suggested.

Furniture Medic explained the material was good for making attractive household comforts, but underlined certain steps should be taken to look after it.

It suggested before a purchase is made, conservatory owners should look for any loose pieces of weaving and double check the joints are secure.

The firms head of marketing Hannah Banfield stated adding a lacquer could also help protect the items from insects and the weather, adding sagging or loose parts were not a good sign.

"If it does start to fall apart make sure you call the experts to have it fixed as quickly as possible as this will protect it for any future problems," she explained.
