Conservatory foundation product wins award

A Burnley business has won an award for a product that helps save costs and the environment when building a conservatory.

The Wykamol Group developed the QuickBase conservatory foundation system using steel piles rather than deeply dug concrete, according to the Burley Express.

Now it has won the Gold Award from trade magazine WFI, meaning it has been awarded the coveted position of best conservatory product of the year.

QuickBase Foundations division director Jonathan Thomas explained to the newspaper that the company always had confidence in its product.

"We knew from the start we had something special with this product. Now these awards have confirmed our confidence."

A conservatory can be a great place to enjoy a meal with a nice view.

A Campbeltown hotel recently announced that it is to build a glazed extension to its restaurant with views over Campbeltown Loch, while another restaurant – Oregano at the Eagle Lodge in Glasgow – recently opened its own glasshouse.
