Chester gardeners rewarded

A number of gardeners have been rewarded for their efforts in the greenhouse and garden.

The Great Boughton in Bloom competition winners were handed their awards by the deputy lord mayor of Chester Paul Cheetham at Caldy Valley Church.

A range of winners scooped awards for categories that included best front garden, best large garden and small garden.

According to the Chester Evening Leader, photographs of the winning gardens were on show at the event, where gardeners exchanges [d] ideas and tips.

The Boughton in Bloom competition is part of the larger Britain in Bloom campaign that looks to reward gardeners around the country for their sterling efforts in making the UK a beautiful place to live.

Competitions such as this often provide inspiration for gardeners and, indeed, inspire non-gardeners to take up the pastime.

A good investment to start with for a serious gardener is a decent greenhouse, which can be especially useful at this time of year.
