Build a Recycled Greenhouse

The organisers of Harrogate Spring Flower Show are appealing for used 2 litre plastic bottles in order to build a recycled greenhouse.

The event, running between April 25th and April 28th will see a demonstration of how to build a greenhouse from used household waste.

Organisers will use 2000 plastic bottles to construct a full-sized 2 metre by three metre greenhouse.

Show director Martin Fish said;

“Plastic bottle greenhouses are popping up all over the country and can be used very successfully to grow a wide range of fruit, veg and plants. We thought it would be a great way to get more of our visitors involved in recycling and give them a new skill to take away and try at home…”

Other attractions at the 2013 show include over 100 nursery displays, Britain’s biggest floral art exhibition, more show gardens than ever before and a “Plot to Pot” cookery theatre.

The event will take place at The Great Yorkshire Showground.
