Britain In Bloom 2014
Europe’s largest community gardening campaign, Britain In Bloom celebrates its 50th year in 2014. As part of the celebrations, the RHS have launched and a new initiative – Going for Gold.
The Going for Gold initiative will see the RHS give away over half a million sunflower seeds to community groups from all over the country in a bid to create fields of gold in public and private gardens. They even hope to rejuvenate some derelict land.
RHS Community Horticulture manager Stephanie Enyon said;
“We’re providing the seeds as a big thank you to all the industrious and passionate people who work year round to make the UK clean, green and beautiful. It is also a chance do something big for the environment. As well as being symbolic of RHS Britain in Bloom’s 50th year (the sunflowers) will provide vital food for pollinators this summer.”
