Boost the value with an extension

A recent survey of estate agents has found that building a stylish extension could be the answer to homeowners prayers as they look for ways to improve the value of their home amid the dwindling property markets problems.

The NAEA (National Association of Estate Agents) poll revealed that 41 per cent of respondents considered an extension to be the way forward in terms of increasing the value of a property.

NAEA chief executive Peter Bolton King explained that making changes to the `home could have a big impact on its value.

"A well planned and built extension, that creates an additional open living space, could potentially increase the value of a property," he said.

The survey also found that kitchen improvements were useful in upping a propertys value.

One way to improve the kitchen is to construct a lean-to extension, which should give more room for cooking and eating as well as a great view of the garden.
