Advice on how to deal with drought to be offered at plant fair
Advice on how to deal with drought will be offered at the RHS Great London Plant Fair, which will take place from 10th to 11th April. The advice will help gardeners to deal with drought caused by the dry winter and early spring. The RHS has announced that 27 leading UK nurseries will be present at the show and will be offering plants that are suitable for dry weather conditions.
The society also advised gardeners to look for Southern Hemisphere plants, which will be on the stands of Fibrex and Stonecrop.
The society’s advisory team will also be present at the show to help gardeners select their plants, as well as offering advice on watering alternatives.
Guy Barter, Chief Horticultural Advisor for the RHS, said: “Remember that planting now before soils dry out will give plants a good chance to send out roots into the warming soil and seek out water, reducing the need to water in summer.”
The show will start on Tuesday from 10am-7pm and will be free for RHS members and £8 for non-members and will also run on Wednesday from 10am-5pm and will be free for non-members and £5 for non-members.
