8% of Britons to upgrade to double glazing
Nearly one in ten (eight per cent) Britons are planning on installing double glazing in the New Year, new research shows.
According to a survey by npower, half of homeowners in the UK intend to make their homes more energy efficient in 2009.
Of these, nearly two thirds claim that their concern for the environment is the main motivation for double glazing their conservatory or sliding doors.
Npowers top energy saving tips include keeping drafts out by using brushes on folding sliding doors and sealant strips on windows, sky and roof lights.
The research also revealed that nearly eight in ten of those keen on making energy savings intend to use more efficient light bulbs.
Meanwhile, more than three quarters (77 per cent) intend to make use of blinds on their sliding folding doors and windows to keep the heat in.
However, 50 per cent of those questioned intend to make no energy saving changes in the New Year.
