Gabriel Ash Supply the new Teaching Greenhouse at RHS Harlow Carr in Harrogate
Nearly a year ago now, Gabriel Ash was approached by the RHS (who endorse all Gabriel Ash’s greenhouses) to see if we could produce a structure big enough to act as a teaching greenhouse for their brand new £3.3m Learning centre at RHS Harlow Carr in Harrogate.
The brief was quite specific. They needed a greenhouse that was wide enough and long enough to allow tens of children in at a time and still give enough room for the teacher to monitor the students work. In addition to this, they also need to have an integral shed to store all the tools for the students, and above all, the greenhouse had to look great.
A year later, and we think we’ve achieved just that.
At nearly 60ft (18m) long, and 12ft (3.5m) wide, the greenhouse is certainly one of the larger structures in our range, but you would expect that from one of the North’s most exemplary gardens to visit, teaching over 10,000 children per year and having over 250,000 visitors over that same time.
Gabriel Ash don’t only produce greenhouses this big, our range goes down to a more modest 6x8 greenhouse for the smallest of town gardens.
