The Twelve
This enchanting sixty five acre garden set in the beautiful Torridge Valley, Devon is well worth a visit. Particularly if you want to see a Gabriel Ash greenhouse being put to good use. The gardens at Rosemoor are inspirational and our greenhouse can be found in the amongst the fruit and vegetables in the walled garden. There's plenty more to see from Lady Anne's original garden to the Rose Garden, the Arboretum, there's even a Lake and Bog Garden.
The greenhouse is almost twelve foot wide and is raised on a low wall which overcomes any issues created by the sloping site as well as allowing double doors to be fitted centrally down the curtain wall. Surrounded on all four sides by vegetables ranging from artichokes to zucchini (or courgettes if you prefer !) The greenhouse beds are full of a selection of young tomato plants, cucumbers and marigolds to discourage pests.
At each end of the greenhouse there's louvre vents to ensure a good through draft. With all those tomatoes ventilation will be very important as the warmer months approach. To the rear of the greenhouse there's a side of cold frames with melons growing. These are covered with a shade to protect the plants from the glare of the sun. In the same respect the greenhouse is fitted with blinds which are retractable.
