The Hyde Hall
The most popular size model in the RHS Collection the Hyde Hall measures approximately eight foot by 10 foot. The 45 degree roof pitch was used commonly in the construction of Victorian Greenhouses and gives an generous amount of headroom in the greenhouse as well as adding to the cubic air capacity.
With our unique full length roof vent running the entire length of the greenhouse any rising warm air is efficiently eliminated. Since the vent is positioned at the highest point on the structure it acts rather like a chimney for the warm air ensuring that the greenhouse does not get too hot and that your plants get the ventilation they require. This operates on wax filled cylinders - when it is warm the wax in the cylinders expands which in turn pushes a piston up that opens the vents. Similarly when it cools down later in the day the wax contracts and the vent closes. This requires no electricity. If you are away on a hot day you can rest assured that your precious plants will be getting the ventilation they require.
