Children to meet Santa in green space
Greenhouse enthusiasts might be please to learn that more than 2,000 children from all over Wales will be heading out to their local green spaces to meet Santa in the run up to Christmas.
Woodland grottos are springing up all over the country as Forestry Commission Wales education staff try and turn government woodlands into magical winter wonderlands.
Forestry Commission Wales have offered schools and educational groups the chance for their pupils to meet Santa and tell him exactly what they want for Christmas, as well as coming away with a goodie bag.
"Our Christmas visits are a great way to get children and education staff to engage in woodland learning during the colder, winter months, when it's traditionally more difficult to get groups to visit woodlands," Woodlands for Learning team leader Sue Williams said.
Last month, Forestry Commission Wales tried to encourage children away from a life of crime through the Roundhouse Project, which engages disaffected youngsters.
