Bespoke Greenhouses Those with an enthusiasm for greenhouses will be extremely disappointed to learn that the Gardeners' Question Time tour has been cancelled, with a lack of interest in the ailing show cited as one of the chief reasons.

Due to start next month, the 28-day tour promised "gardening expertise with the usual dose of quirky humour", but people, it appears, are losing interest in the show which has been running since 1947.

The show changed its format in 2009, moving from purely question and answer sessions with trusted experts to ever changing locations and a raft of different presenters.

Gardening writer Helen Yemm told the Daily Telegraph that the changes were inevitable but added that perhaps the producers are trying to pander to the country's celebrity culture too much.

"The presenters seem to role play rather a lot and the programme tries too much to entertain rather than simply inform," she claimed.

Up until 1957, Gardeners' Question Time was available only to listeners in the north of the country. ADNFCR-1495-ID-800727132-ADNFCR
