Shed Collection A nine-metre high vertical garden will tower over visitors to this year's Chelsea Flower Show, it has been revealed.

While in the past exhibitors at the world-famous West London event have tended to display their flowers, plants and produce on horizontal plots of land, according to a new report from the Guardian, one team is set to wow visitors with a vertical display this summer.

The B&Q-sponsored exhibit will see a tower constructed in the heart of the show, with one wall given over to plants including tomatoes and peppers, another to food crops and another to solar panels.

Speaking to the newspaper, the brains behind the initiative, Patrick Collins, explained that, while the garden is meant to be inspirational above all else, it will also be geared towards giving visitors to Chelsea ideas they can take home with them.

"Our garden is saying anyone can grow their own veg, even in a small garden or a window box," he said.

Tickets for the 2011 Chelsea Flower Show have now sold out, with the London Evening Standard reporting that they are fetching up to £250 each on the internet.
