Shed Collection Greenhouse enthusiasts looking for a good day out should try visiting the Green Island Gardens in Essex, it has been suggested.

This is according to the Daily Telegraph, which commented that the 20-acre triangular "land island" has a number of interesting features.

These include terraces, island borders and woodland, plus a tea room that houses a design and photographic exhibition.

Also on offer are a Japanese garden and seaside and gravel spaces, while many of the features have been built using materials grown on site.

On top of that, "fallen oaks from the great storm of 1987 were used to make a tree house, decking and arbour spanning the pond and several timber houses, along with seats," the newspaper added, making it "a garden for all seasons".

Last month, it was announced that the National Botanic Gardens of Wales is to receive £700,000 of new funding.ADNFCR-1495-ID-800462970-ADNFCR
