Gardening equipment sales ready to rise
Greenhouse enthusiasts may be interested to learn that sales of gardening equipment are set to increase between now and winter, it has been suggested.
Anna-Marie DeSouza, editor of Build-It magazine, said spring is when purchases of outdoor equipment and DIY materials start to rise.
"This is the time when people are starting their home and garden maintenance to get everything shipshape in time for the summer," she explained.
Ms DeSouza added that many households start planning major jobs in February and March, especially developments like overhauling a kitchen, bedroom or bathroom.
The period between spring and autumn is when many people research how they are going to approach jobs on this scale, she continued.
Idealo.co.uk recently reported that UK consumers are increasingly buying home improvement items in an effort to beat the property slump, with consumer interest in some now up by almost 3,000 per cent on this month last year.
