Try distinctive Harry Lauders Walking Stick in a garden
People with greenhouses keen to make an impact in their gardens may want to follow the recommendations of one expert and consider planting Harry Lauder's Walking Stick.
This deciduous flowering shrub, also known as Corylus avellana, has a distinctive corkscrew-shaped truck, Tom Oder explained in an article for the Dunwoody Patch.
He urged green-fingered types to really show off this unusual plant and resist the temptation to hide it among other shrubs.
"This is a planter's plant. Show it off," he stated.
Mr Oder claimed it is an adaptable shrub and is likely to be at home in many a backyard.
"It can grow well in partial shade or a sunny spot that is well drained," the expert added, stating that his is located on a slope in high shade.
If individuals are keen to plant some shrubs during the colder months, they could follow the advice of Nigel Colborn.
He said in a Daily Mail article that perfumed plants can bring life to a backyard in winter.
