Planthouses Homeowners should make the most of their garden and greenhouse environments in the winter and autumn months, it has been suggested.

Even though the weather is getting colder, there is still a lot of enjoyment to be had from the outdoors before the end of the year, Ronseal said.

Product manager Kate Hodge urged Brits to get wrapped up warm and get into their green space to enjoy the fresh air and marvel at the birds and wildlife.

"If it is really cold, a chiminea or patio heater is also a good idea as you can stay nice and warm whilst enjoying the outdoors," she said.

The advice comes as Ronseal looks to convince gardeners to prepare for the expected cold winter by getting their green spaces in shape.

Ms Hodge recommended that Brits treat any wooden surface, such as fencing, furniture and decking to protect it from the elements.ADNFCR-1495-ID-800119961-ADNFCR
