Shed Collection While summer is a great time to enjoy the fruits of your labour in the garden and greenhouse, growers should not rest on their laurels.

According to the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), gardeners shouldnt assume that they can sit back and relax for the whole summer.

Indeed, a continuous process of dead heading is required to keep flowery plants in full bloom.

Now is also a good time to remove any algae, weeds and debris from ponds, as well as keep an eye on clematises, which tend to welt at this time.

While the warm weather may necessitate extra watering for potted plants - especially new ones - it is important not to be wasteful, the organisation noted.

Some greenhouse specimens can be taken out from under glass to enjoy the heat of day, the RHS added.

In other news, the RHS recently revealed that outdoor and greenhouse gardening is useful for building kids confidence.ADNFCR-1495-ID-19880657-ADNFCR
