RHS Greenhouse The Royal Horticultural Societys (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show went ahead as planned this week, in spite of a tough winter and spring causing problems for exhibitors.

It comes to an end tomorrow (Saturday May 29th), but has been heralded as a success, with many firms enjoying their time there, according to Horticulture Week.

One such company was Hillier Nurseries, which scooped its 65th consecutive gold in the worlds most famous horticultural event.

"We had a mighty battle with the elements this spring, and all credit goes to Ricky Dorlay, who brought all his 45 years [of] Chelsea experience to bear in preparing the Hillier plant material," explained managing director Andy McIndoe.

He added that thanks and appreciation should go to all the staff at the firm for their "fantastic" efforts in making the display a success.

Other winners included Medwyns of Anglesey, which won the Presidents Award on its return to the show after a five-year hiatus.

The RHS hosts a number of events throughout the year and will soon put on Gardeners World Live in London.ADNFCR-1495-ID-19807729-ADNFCR
