Bespoke Greenhouses The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is preparing to welcome garden and greenhouse growers to one of its sites for two special events next month.

Garden Wisley will host the British National Carnation Society Show on June 29th in its Hillside Events Centre.

It will be followed up by a special open day on the 30th, which will see attendees given hints and tips on how to grow pinks and carnations.

Visitors will be shown how easy it can be to propagate and grow the pretty flowers, before being given the chance to sit through two expert lectures in the afternoon.

RHS rock garden plant committee member Jim Jermyn is an expert in alpine growing and will discuss how to cultivate the Dianthus, which the society describes as "small but perfectly formed".

Meanwhile, RHS carnation and pinks sub-committee member Carolyn Whetman will explain how breeding work is creating beautiful and healthy flowers.

In other news, the RHS recently warned that gardeners should be aware of any cold snaps as overnight frosts might still return and damage their plants.ADNFCR-1495-ID-19785210-ADNFCR
