Expert advises Northumberland garden and greenhouse fans
Today (March 23rd) saw Northumberland garden and greenhouse enthusiasts given the opportunity to speak to an award-winning horticulturalist.
Former BBC Gardener of the Year and Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) silver gilt winner Bob Tridgett was on hand at Heighley Gate garden centre to share his knowledge.
According to the Morpeth Herald, the expert conducted a question and answer session in which visitors were able to get bespoke tips on how to improve their green space.
He told the newspaper in the run-up to the event: "People may want suggestions on what to plant where, or what plant combinations go together, and I will be happy to suggest what I think would work for their garden."
The day offered local enthusiasts a real opportunity to widen their knowledge and find answers to their problems, Heighley Gate general manager Roger Wale added.
In other news, Britain could once again be home to a large population of native elm trees, after the RHS revealed that plans are afoot to plant up to 10,000 saplings.
