Classic Greenhouses February is the month to begin planting fruit trees and making final preparations for the growing season, it has been claimed.

According to the Royal Horticultural Society, Brits can speed up strawberry growth by covering them with cloches or moving them into the greenhouse.

It also advised that trees should be planted once the last frost has disappeared and that a top dressing of sulphate of potash should help the growing process.

Weeds should be cleared away from the base of the bush or tree and leaves should be sprayed against weed curl.

It is important to remember that, unlike vegetable growing, fruit trees mature over a number of years, so crops are likely to improve as time goes by.

In other news, the Daily Mail recently explained that raised beds are not essential for growing vegetables, but can be useful for those who have poor soil.ADNFCR-1495-ID-19621054-ADNFCR
