Glasshouses Britains garden and greenhouse enthusiasts may be busy planning their layout for the year ahead, but those who are struggling to find inspiration might benefit from a visit to one of the countrys green attractions.

According to the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), spring is the ideal time to take a stroll through one of the UKs beautiful landscaped gardens.

As well as being an enjoyable and healthy diversion, growers might find that they pick up some ideas on what to do with their own green space in 2010.

One such site is Oxfordshires Blenheim Palace, which offers an array of attractive features for visitors.

Winston Churchill chose the Temple of Diana in the grounds as the spot to propose to his wife in 1908.

Meanwhile, the water terraces in the grounds were based on the famous River Gods Fountain by Bernini and the Grand Cascade waterfall has the reputation for being one of the most beautiful in England.

Furthermore, RHS members get free entry for the month of February, making it an ideal choice for those looking for some cost-effective fun.

The RHS is also running a number of half-term activities for kids, including a chance to learn from Royal Society for the Protection of Birds experts at Garden Harlow Carr.ADNFCR-1495-ID-19617940-ADNFCR
