Cold Frames Collection A world record attempt will form part of National Tree Week, which inexplicably runs over 11 days from November 25th until December 6th.

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is urging garden and greenhouse enthusiasts to show their support for the BBC Tree OClock event, which takes place on Saturday December 5th.

With 250,000 people across 67 counties already showing their support, it is hoped even more will join the campaign and set a new Guinness World Record.

Those wishing to pledge their support can head to the BBC Tree OClock events online space.

Meanwhile, the RHS offers advice on sourcing, buying, planting and maintaining trees on its website, along with tips on growing many other plants.

It recently launched a new research project into how different varieties can support much-needed insects in the garden.

RHS horticultural advisor Helen Bostock explained: "The average garden contains around 70 per cent non-native plants, but their role in supporting wildlife is unclear."ADNFCR-1495-ID-19467454-ADNFCR
