Bespoke Greenhouses While some websites dedicated to the home offer consumers almost exactly what they want, certain gardening resources leave a lot to be desired, a poll has shown.

Which? interviewed 10,000 of its magazine subscribers to canvas their opinions on 16 online offerings.

It discovered that gardening websites such as B&Qs DIY.com fall below what consumers expect.

The resource scored just 59 per cent, coming last in the survey, with researcher Sarah Dennis explaining that it was let down by its search function.

"Thompson & Morgan scored highly for range but, like Crocus, not for price. Search functionality and value for money are what consumers are looking for," she added.

John Lewis topped the list with a score of 91 per cent, while Lakeland.co.uk was fourth with 87 per cent.

Eighth place went to Gardening4Less.co.uk, which managed to score 73 per cent.

A B&Q representative explained that the firm was always looking to improve and admitted that it was disappointed to score so poorly.

Meanwhile, the Royal Horticultural Societys Garden Harlow Carr is set to hold a number of festive activities, including the Victorian Magic of Christmas weekends on Saturday and Sunday, November 28th and 29th.ADNFCR-1495-ID-19457038-ADNFCR
