RHS Greenhouse Parents looking for a half-term activity that will entertain and educate their kids may be interested to hear what the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has planned.

Its Garden Harlow Carr is set to host a number of spooky events in the run-up to Halloween, with youngsters able to make decorations and costume accessories on October 30th.

The following day, face painting and a pumpkin competition will take place, with attendees being asked to wear fancy dress.

Meanwhile, Garden Wisley will this weekend (October 24th and 25th) kick off a week of activities with The Big Draw.

Kids will be asked to get their little hands dirty and help create a giant leaf art picture.

Later in the week, children will be able to make miniature scarecrows or grass head characters and plant their own potted wallflowers.

In other news, the RHS recently revealed that scientists have unravelled the DNA of a pathogen believed to cause late blight in potatoes.ADNFCR-1495-ID-19420517-ADNFCR
