Garden and greenhouse enthusiasts invited to exhibit wares
Horticulture fans from across the UK will soon be able to show off the fruits of their labour in the garden and greenhouse.
The Royal Horticultural Societys (RHS) Garden Rosemoor is set to host its first Local Produce Show and is asking growers to enter their wares.
Adults can enter fruits, vegetables and homemade baked goods for the approval of a judging panel, while wine, cider, juices and preserves will also be marked.
Children looking to take part will be able to enter vegetable animals, sunflower heads and cress heads into their own special competition classes.
The event takes place at the RHSs site in Great Torrington in Devon and runs across the weekend of August 22nd and 23rd.
Exhibitors are actively being sought for the celebration of locally-grown produce - and entries will be accepted up until the day of the show.
Supervisor for the event Diana Gilding, who promised a "great weekend", said: "This is the first time we have held an event like this and its great to be supporting the local community."
Meanwhile, the RHS recently stated the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs decision to hold a study into sustainable food production had its backing.
