Gardeners can find out impact of greenhouse gases at event
The Met Office is due to attend the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show this week to tell the public the truth about the impact of climate change.
As well as getting the chance to present a weather forecast, attendees will also be able to explore an interactive garden, which has been designed to exemplify how greenhouse gases affect flora and fauna.
The government body explained how global warmings effects are already notable due to winters being milder and springs being longer – something that may well force gardeners to change their planting habits.
Pete Gibbs, a broadcast meteorologist at the BBC, commented on the purpose of the event.
"By drawing attention to some of the changes we will experience in our gardens and in our lives, we aim to give people a reliable picture of the impacts so they can prepare for the future," he said.
The show will be held between July 7th and 12th. Advanced tickets for members cost between £14 and £32. Public rates vary from £17to £27.
